This 90-minute virtual workshop aims to help you educate and support your clients who may experience discrimination as part of their career journey, while also teaching you how to be an ally for the 2SLGBTQI community.

    • 30% of LGBTQ employees in Canada report experiencing discrimination in the workplace compared to only 3% of non-LGBTQ employees.
    • 49% of trans people are turned down or suspect they were turned down for a job because they were trans.
    • 30% of openly 2SLGBTQI people leave their workplaces because they feel unwelcome or unsupported by management.

Workplace Inclusion for Gender and Sexual Diversity is a 90-minute live, facilitated, interactive training session that introduces participants to the diverse identities and experiences captured by the 2SLGBTQI acronym, and gets them thinking about the workplace norms and practices that contribute to an unwelcoming atmosphere for 2SLGBTQI-identifying persons.

These ideas are then used to discuss the importance of respectful and inclusive language. Participants will gain awareness of the critical importance of fostering safer and more inclusive workspaces and will leave with tips on how to be more affirming and supportive in their interactions with 2SLGBTQI clients and other interested parties.

All registered participants will receive a certificate of completion and will have unlimited access to view the video recording after the workshop.

In the dynamic world of career development, as in many of the helping professions, the pursuit of providing career and employment support to clients often goes hand-in-hand with the risk of burnout. How can career development professionals (CDPs) navigate their demanding roles while maintaining their personal well-being?

While the positive impacts of the CDP role are numerous, including a sense of purpose and contributing to positive change, the challenges, such as emotional exhaustion, lack of recognition, and boundary issues, cannot be overlooked.

We will explore the critical role of self-care in maintaining the resilience of CDPs dedicated to supporting individuals navigating the complex world of careers, while emphasizing the need for a proactive approach to safeguard physical and mental health.

    Webinar Highlights:

    1. Understand the concept of burnout; its causes, signs and symptoms, and its variations.
    2. Explore the intricate relationship between excessive workload, lack of recognition, lack of control, poor work-life balance, and other factors that can contribute to burnout.
    3. Learn to recognize stressors and understand your personal limits.
    4. Understand the importance of self-care; the many benefits, and the various types.
    5. Learn how to create a self-care action plan that can be incorporated into your professional life on a daily basis.

Once you understand how self-care can have a profound impact on preventing burnout, you will be inspired to create a personal, sustainable self-care routine that emphasizes consistency and self-compassion.

Join us on a journey toward enduring well-being that will support your long-term professional success. Let's delve into the transformative power of self-care for career professionals!
