In today’s world we can truly say that “To Sell is Human”. It is so easy for one to sell their favourite book, movie or television show but as soon as one is asked to sell…they freeze.

What is it about the word “sell” that sets people into a panic?

With the labour market being such a competitive market it is imperative that our clients face this phobia and learn the art of being proud of their accomplishments and success stories and become comfortable sharing them with others.

Lee-Anne Lefebvre is a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist and Facilitator with March of Dimes Canada. She holds her Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) Designation through VRA Canada and is also a member of Career Professionals of Canada. Lee-Anne offers employment services and job search training to WSIB client, Veterans (and their families), and ODSP clients.

Consider these questions for the call:
  1. How do you help clients to gain the much needed self-esteem and confidence to even start talking about their accomplishments and successes?
  2. What strategies do you use to get clients to buy into themselves and reach out of their comfort zones and “sell” themselves?
  3. How do you teach the importance of networking and what marketing material do you encourage them to have, and use, at these networking events? What kind of networking opportunities do you encourage them to attend?
  4. What words do you teach your clients to use (example: elevator pitches) and how do you stop them from sounding like a robot?
  5. How do you engage a client who is losing motivation and momentum?

This is a conference call. Long distance charges may apply.
