Our clients may be struggling to address one or more barriers. Employment barriers might be actual concerns, those that are perceived by the employer, or those that are perceived by the candidate. No matter which situation, our role as practitioners is to help the candidate gain insight, improve self-esteem, determine viable career paths, and leverage resources to mitigate the barrier.

Lotte Struwing, founder of Lasting Solutions will be leading this session. Lotte is a Certified Career Strategist (CCS) with a passion for making a difference in people's lives. With over 20 years of combined HR, coaching, and business experience along with significant life skills, Lotte has an in depth understanding of the changing business landscape and employment barriers that challenge clients.

Consider these questions for the call:

  1. What barriers to employment do you address most often with your clients?
  2. How do you address barriers that are perceived by the client or employer, rather than an actual concern?
  3. How do you handle it when a client seems to be unaware of their employment barriers?
  4. How can you help clients without them becoming too reliant on your support?
  5. How do you know when a client’s situation requires a professional with more expertise?
