Shaping a Better Future: When Everything and Nothing Changes at the Same Time

What if career security no longer means having one role, one employer, or one source of income?

Kick off Canada Career Month by joining us on November 5 at 1:00 PM ET for a timely 90-minute exploration of portfolio careers and the possibilities they offer for career professionals and their clients.

The world of work is changing, and career professionals are not merely observing it. We are living it, too.

For some, this means diversifying income, expanding services, combining different roles, or reimagining what a sustainable career can look like. A portfolio career can help us respond to uncertainty with greater flexibility, intention, and possibility.

In this engaging session, Gail Kastning will explore:

    • What portfolio careers can look like in practice
    • How to uncover new opportunities utilizing your existing skills
    • Ways to diversify your roles, services, and income
    • How to support clients in imagining more flexible and resilient futures

This is not about doing more for the sake of doing more. It is about expanding possibilities and building career resilience in a world of constant change.

You will come away from this session inspired and equipped to shape a better future for yourself and your clients.

Who should attend: Career development professionals, career coaches, résumé writers, employment consultants, workforce development professionals, educators, HR professionals, and anyone interested in flexible and sustainable approaches to work.

    Guest Speaker

CPC member Gail Kastning, B.Ed., CCDP, CSS, is the founder and owner of Purposeful Careers. A portfolio careerist for more than 20 years, she specializes in portfolio careers and designing career support programs for non-traditional workers.

All registered participants will have unlimited access to view the video recording following the webinar.

*** All attendees will receive a certificate of completion after the session. ***

Financial pressures can impact not only mental well-being but also career decision-making and the ability to navigate an uncertain world of work.

This November, Canada Career Month and Financial Literacy Month come together in a special CPC webinar exploring one of the most important and often overlooked influences on career well-being: financial stress.

Join us on Tuesday, November 17, at 1:00 PM ET for a timely 60-minute conversation about the powerful connection between money, mental health, and career resilience.

Financial uncertainty can affect confidence, well-being, decision-making, workplace performance, and the ability to move forward. Career professionals and leaders are often among the first to see these effects, but supporting someone through financial stress does not require becoming a financial expert.

In this practical and engaging session, Anna Gordon will explore:

    • How financial stress can influence mental health and career decisions
    • How to recognize when money concerns may be affecting confidence and performance
    • Practical ways to support clients, employees, and ourselves through uncertainty
    • Accessible tools and resources for strengthening financial wellness and resilience

You will come away from this session with greater confidence in your ability to have supportive conversations with your clients, connect people with appropriate resources, and help build resilience during challenging times.

Who should attend: Career development professionals, career coaches, employment consultants, team leaders, HR professionals, workforce development professionals, educators, and anyone supporting clients as they navigate the intersection of financial well-being and career decision-making.

    Guest Speaker

CPC member Anna Gordon, CCDP, CCS, CWS, FIS, helps organizations and individuals navigate change with confidence. She brings more than 25 years of experience across nonprofit, government, and private-sector environments, with expertise spanning education, engagement, well-being, leadership development, workforce initiatives, and client coaching.

Known for combining relatable storytelling with practical strategies, Anna creates memorable learning experiences that leave people feeling informed, empowered, and ready to take action.

All registered participants will have unlimited access to view the video recording following the webinar.

This is a live-only webinar. Registered attendees will have access to the recording for 30 days following the session.

*** All attendees will receive a certificate of completion after the session. ***

One of the most exciting opportunities for involvement is through the CPC Communications Team.

This dynamic group helps shape CPC’s digital presence, keeps our members informed, and promotes our caring, professional community.

The Communications Team has three core groups, each playing a unique role in keeping our members connected and inspired:

    • News Feed Group: Write and share timely, engaging, and informative articles tailored to Canadian career professionals. Articles are featured on the CPC News Feed, highlighted in the Career Connections eNewsletter, and shared across social media.
    • Social Media Group: Moderate and foster engagement in CPC’s LinkedIn and Facebook groups. Encourage dialogue, share resources, and help strengthen our online community.
    • Website Content Group: Review CPC’s website and provide recommendations to ensure content is clear, accessible, and engaging. Help enhance the member experience by supporting an informative and user-friendly website.

At these meetings, we'll come together to share ideas and best practices.

CPC’s board of directors are responsible for the association's governance, strategic direction, and accountability.

Governance is the framework, processes, rules, and systems that controls how the board is structured, how it operates, and how decisions are made. Planning and determining strategic direction is carried out by the board on an ongoing basis and includes both short and long-term goals. The board has a legal responsibility to provide oversight and accountability for CPC. They must ensure that all legal and ethical standards are followed and the organization is appropriately managing their assets and resources.

Board members are automatically registered for each board meeting.

CPC's Certification Team upholds the highest standards in the career development profession. This meeting is exclusively for CPC's authorised Certification Assessors.

Our certification program recognises and validates the expertise of practitioners across a range of essential competencies, including career strategy, work-life strategy, interview strategy, employment strategy, and résumé strategy.

Through rigorous assessment and evaluation, CPC ensures that certified professionals meet the benchmark for excellence in their field, providing employers, clients, and colleagues with confidence in their skills and knowledge.
